Throw Back Thursday ~ 2009 to 2014
One thing I've been trying to do the last several days is to focus on the positives as I work my way back on track. We often need to remind ourselves how far we've come...especially when we're struggling the most.
This little gem on the left was at my friend Courtney's bachelorette party in 2009. That hot chic on the far left is one of my best friends, Lisa, and she ROCKS btw. I was a pregnant DD (not bra size....) that night. The party was an 80's theme...and while I LOVE the 80's ANYTHING, there's something about me being sober and playing dress-up that don't mix.
I'm definitely more proud of the pic on the right. My Coach, Val, and I are in Vegas for our Coach Summit about a month ago. Of course I'm strategically wearing black but the different between the two pics is 50 lbs and at least 4 sizes. There have been lots of jogging miles, DVD workouts, Zumba, WeightWatchers, and clean eating in between.
I actually lost weight when I first found out I was prego. I was craving healthy foods. I of course wasn't drinking. And, I only gained 17 lbs. overall....yes, I get that I was heavier starting out and that's likely why...lol.
On a side note about being pregnant....Other than becoming somewhat of a crazy person...thinking I would somehow kill my baby...I liked being pregnant. (I got the memo late on things like hot baths and deli meat and was certain from an ultrasound picture she had a cleft palate. Yeah, so....I didn't read Pregnancy for Dummies....or anything for that matter..except the internet. I MAY or may not have googled a few too many things about what could go wrong, and I was an eternal pessimist about life in general.) BUT, she turned out JUST fine. She doesn't really look anything like Daryn or I...trust me she's ours...but she's JUST fine....lol.
Anyhoo, yes, I kinda liked it. It was the first time in YEARS I didn't have to suck it in.
And, I wouldn't give up my c-section shelf for anything in the world.
